Trumpet History

Trumpet player, know thy self!!! Even though I have a degree in Music Education, I am currently a history teacher at a private school. I really get a charge out of teaching history and I thought (just for fun) I would throw in some trumpet history just to make this site more interesting.

I personally think it would be weird, to be really serious about playing a trumpet without even knowing who invented the trumpet. So, without further pontificating, here is .....

Trumpet History 101

Ok, let's go way back. The oceans on the earth began violently stirring, causing chemicals to move in a torrent of activity created by heat from the slowly cooling earth. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning errupted from the clouds, striking the salty water which began a chemical chain reaction. The elements formed new life. Eventually the first amoeba began to slither through the primordial soup.... oops, that's too far back in history!

Wait, I have a better Idea!
