Wow! Yamaha has done it again! They make some of the most precise computer engineered trombone mouthpieces on the planet!

This is the Yamaha Large Shank Trombone Mouthpiece 48 and it has a nice large shank if you like to get that deeper tone. All of the edges of these trombone mouthpieces have been rounded to give your lips comfortable surface to rest on.

The rim diameter is 25.25 and the rim contour,and thickness is standard as well as the cup depth. As I said before, the bore is larger which will give you a deeper, more manly tone without straining your upper register

The Bach #3 Gold Trombone Mouthpieces

When I was in high school, (back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth) I used to play almost exclusively on a 61/2 AL Bach silver mouthpiece.

I later switched to this medium deep cup #3 from Bach and I could not believe the difference that gold plating had on these trombone mouthpieces!!!

My range actually sounded better and my flexability improved as well. The smaller shank made it easier to hit those high notes in stage band as well!
